Our very own CNN HERO Pushpa Basnet was invited to speak at the TEDxGateway in Mumbai on December 8. During her talk Pushpa recounted stories from her childhood, school life and her feelings when she found out that she had failed her School Leaving Certificate examinations. The CNN Hero also mentioned that it was during the year away from education that she received the opportunity to work with women and children in a prison. So there began the story of the Pushpa Basnet that we all now know – the CNN HERO!
