London, October 5, 2015- Hike for Nepal, a campaign run by a group of travel entrepreneurs from Nepal to promote tourism in Nepal on aftermath of recent major earthquakes, conducted an event on Monday at the Richmond Park, London. Despite the challenging weather around 40 participants from diverse age-groups took part in the event.

Speaking at the event Mr. Kul Acharya Said, “I am happy to be the part of Hike For Nepal campaign which aims to revive tourism in Nepal after the recent major earthquakes. Tourism is essentially a back bone of Nepalese economy and such campaigns will help to spread positive message around the world”

“Hundreds of Nepalese from all over the world are travelling to Nepal to participate in Global conference of NRNA to be held on 14-17 October. I urge all the Nepalese around the world to plan their next holiday in Nepal & also encourage the fellow citizens of the respected countries to visit Nepal as Nepal is still safe and secure to travel and is  still amazingly beautiful as before”, he further added.

During the hike, participants walked through the trails of Richmond Park. They started off from the main entrance and went all the way to the Pen Pond and returned back to the starting point, a route that made for a 2 hours long hike. The group of Hikers was led by Mr. Suman Sharma who coordinated the Hike for Nepal-London event.

“Through this campaign we are creating a common platform where hikers, nature lovers, and other interested people from diverse backgrounds can meet every weekend and take a hike together. People can share their ideas and experiences while hiking, and they can also use the event to help raise funds for social causes,” said Ganesh Sharma, chairperson of the campaign.

“London’s event is our first international Hiking event and with such international campaigns we want to let the world know that Nepal is still a safe and beautiful travel destination and request everyone to plan their next holiday in Nepal which will eventually help Nepal to recover from the effects of recent major earthquakes”, Sharma added.
